06:00 AM – Early Departure: Start your drive early from Rishikesh to beat the traffic. You can hire a trusted private cab or take a local bus heading towards Ukhimath/Gopeshwar. 09:30 AM – Photo Stop at Devprayag: Take a break at Devprayag, the holy confluence where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers meet to form the Ganges. The dual-colored waters make a stunning backdrop for group photos. 02:30 PM – Arrival in Chopta: Check into a cozy Swiss tent resort or an aesthetic wooden cottage in Baniya Kund (the main staying hub just before Chopta). 04:30 PM – Sunset & Café Hopping: Spend your evening winding down. Walk through the lush alpine meadows, grab a hot cup of local Buransh (rhododendron) juice, and watch a spectacular Himalayan sunset over the peaks.
05:00 AM – Early Alpine Start: Fuel up with a light breakfast. The trail starts from Chopta town. An early start means catching the crisp morning views before the clouds roll in. 08:30 AM – Reaching Tungnath Temple: Trek up the well-paved 3.5 km stone trail to reach Tungnath Temple, the highest Shiva shrine in the world at 11,500 feet. The climb is steep but highly rewarding. 10:00 AM – Final Push to Chandrashila Peak: Push another 1.5 km above the temple to reach the Chandrashila Summit (12,110 ft). You will be rewarded with a breathtaking, unobstructed 360-degree view of the Garhwal Himalayas, including the mighty Chaukhamba and Nanda Devi peaks. 03:00 PM – Descent & Rest: Head back down the mountain trail to your campsite for a late lunch and a well-deserved rest. 07:00 PM – Bonfire & Stargazing: Unwind from the 10 km trek with a cozy bonfire night under one of the clearest starlit skies you will ever see.
08:00 AM – Travel to Sari Village: Pack up your bags and drive about 45 minutes down to the picturesque Sari Village. 09:00 AM – Short Hike to Deoria Tal: Embark on a short, easy 2 km hike through rhododendron and maple forests to reach Deoria Tal Lake. On a clear day, the lake acts as a perfect mirror reflecting the massive Chaukhamba peaks. 12:30 PM – Lunch & Return Drive: Head back down to Sari Village for a local lunch, then begin your return drive toward Rishikesh. 08:00 PM – Return to Rishikesh: Arrive back in Rishikesh just in time for a late dinner at a riverside cafe in Tapovan to wrap up your trip
